The U20 Boys’ National Team, Flying Eagles, have returned to the country from the just-concluded U20 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt, where they won the bronze medals and also earned a ticket to this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup finals taking place in Chile. The contingent flew back to Abuja on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Aliyu Zubairu boys had narrowly lost the semi-finals to South Africa by a goal to nil but recovered from the loss to beat hosts Egypt on penalties in the 3rd placed game.

The Flying Eagles, Egypt, Morocco and South Africa will be flying the continents flag at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile from September 27th-October 19th 2025.

Led by Ladan Bosso, the Nigerian U-20 team finished off at the quater-finals at the last World Cup in Argentina.
