Tragedy Strikes as Heartland Lose Coach in Fatal Accident

The Head Coach of Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Christian Obi, is dead.

According to available reports, he died in an auto crash on the club’s way to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State for a preseason tournament.

Several players are also said to be in critical condition in the hospital.

Christian Obi was a former Nigerian International goalkeeper and a Bronze medalist from the U-20 World Cup in Moscow, 1985.

He was the hero when Nigeria won on penalties against the host, Soviet Union in the 3rd place game.
